Congratulations on the numerous honors from the Bluegrass Unlimited's Top 40 for 2008. The Gibson Brothers are in pretty good company having 3 titles in the Top 40 (Rhonda Vincent had three also) and 2nd only to Dailey and Vincent in total points with all three of your singles being in the top 25 and Iron and Diamonds being the #2 Album. Its good to hear that you, Eric, "feel good about things in 2008" because the whole band should be very proud. You are a great band, writing heart warming songs your fans can relate to and putting on fun energetic performances. Best of luck in 2009. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Hey Eric...saw your comment re: Roger Staubach, Reggie Jackson and Larry Byrd. There is a great song title there somewhere:
"Roger, Reggie and The Byrd"
"The Goal line, The Baseline and the Foul line"
I Can't quit listening to Iron and Diamonds (well, just a Larry Sparks tune every now and then). You guys have done it again.
Good Luck to ya! and I'll be first in line to buy the tune about Roger, Reggie and the Byrd.
A new fan. I was looking for some cool bluegrass with my Amazon gift card.
Iron and Diamonds is outstanding. Every Track is great. Great reviews on Amazon sold me!
Found your website and have ordered Red Letter Day and Bonified.
Hope to see you on TV or in concert now. I really enjoy your music.
D.O.
I just had to drop a line to you fellas. Until a new car brought me XM-radio I'd pretty much forgottern Bluegrass and folk music, better yet you brought me back home. But it all came flooding back when I first heard "Iron & Diamonds". It was a powerful reminder of home. I was raised up in Westport NY and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of it. Thank you for bringing home all the way to Tucson Arizona. I missed you in Arizona in 2008, but by the grace of god I will see your show the next time you are in Arizona.
Since then I've purchased several of your albums. Songs like Won't Dance Again, What a Ways We've Come, Vern's Guitar, The Barn Song (I miss those old barns), Railroad Line, Sam Smith and many others bring me back to better days. After 30 years you brought me back to Westport, you brought me back to Canton Ag. & Tech. where a roomate and friend showed me banjo music. Your music brought me back to the banjo. I thank you and your music for all that and more.
Hi Guys Happy New Year sorry we haven't been to any of your showS for awhile. We want to make the Jan. up North one. It doesn't take much to make me laugh. See ya Jan. 24 God Bless Harold & Alice

Your fellow musicians and fans,

Just bought Iron & Diamonds
Another great one.
I'm wondering if you have a song books that has "Pickers Blues"? Hope you come to Fla
sometime. Cut the overhead. Stay at my house. Ron
Hi from your cousin in Spencer. Hope you and your families have a very happy and prosperous New Year. I'm going to get up and have a long visit with your Mom in the spring. I just love her. We are so much alike. I just heard the song "Songbird" on Sirius yesterday. Sorry to say I had never heard it before. I have looked for your album with that on it and it doesn't seem to be available. Do you still have some or know where I could get it? Hope when I come up you will be around so I can see you and your families too. Love you guys. Donna
I read in one of your journal entries that you have thought about doing a farm concept cd. Great idea, Eric! Go for it! Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers all had successful concept albums and I'm sure there are many more. Wishing you huge success in the coming year. Hope to get up home and see everyone next summer. Take care.
We hope for your continued success in 2009. See you at Jennybrook.
Jack and Meg
I look forward to more great music from you fellas! Is an appearance at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA a possibility anytime soon?
Happy New Year guys! Hope to see you in Aberdeen, NC on the 3rd of Jan.

Howdy. Keep up the good tunes and singin'. Merry Xmas. Mele Kalikamaka.
Eric, Leigh, Mike, Clayton, Joe and families,
Christmas wouldn't be complete without thanking y'all for all you've given of yourselves this past year. The gift of music has been so appreciated as has the gift of yourselves. Hoping your Christmas and upcoming years are filled with all that you need and that your lives are blessed as y'all continue to bless others.
I want to buy another copy of your "Iron & Diamonds" (I bought one in Peru a month ago) to send to my daughter who is now living in McKinney, TX, which is near Argyle, where you are scheduled in March. She grew up in Malone an had many sports events at NACS. Her husband is from OK. Want to show them that the ADK's have "good ol' boys, too. Neither FYE or Borders has your music! HELP!
Happy Holidays to all and the best in 2009! Thanks for sharing your gift and to your families for sharing you. See you at Mid-Winter.

Have a great year and please tell your Dad I really like "Cabin Down Below". I can hear him now.
Cousin Joan
Wow! So many of you leave such beautiful remarks. Believe me, we don't take them for granted. It reminds me of the Flatt and Scruggs song, "Give Me My Flowers While I'm Living."
In this world, this world we need our flowers/A kind word to help us get along/If you can't give me flowers while I'm living/Then please don't throw them when I'm gone
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Eric
Great seeing y'all again after Thanksgiving in Asheville. We make the pilgrimage from Charleston SC whenever you're in the SE. A glance at your 09 calendar so far is disheartening, but hoping you'll put together some dates down this way. Very much enjoy Eric's journal and the insights it provides to why you two and the band overall are so awesome. Keep the great music coming. Hope all of you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
Hi Eric,
In one of your early journal entries you wrote about Emmylou's Light of the Stable. Based on that, I picked it up this year and it has become one of my favorite Christmas CDs.
Wishing you and Leigh, your families and the band members a peaceful and joy filled holiday season. May the true spirit of Christmas be with you now and in the new year. See you in Chazy....I hope! I'm looking forward to hearing Joe for the first time.
Merry Christmas!
Lynn
Eric,Leigh & Your Families
Wishing everyone a Blessed Christmas and continued good health and success in the coming year. Still wanting ya'll to come and pick & play at Lukenbach.
Is JennyBrook festival really moving to Tunbridge VT or is that a misprint on the Schedule? Tunbridge isn't anywhere near Weston.??
Already looking foward to next season, can you tell?
Andrea
ps:Merry Christmas
I WANT TO WISH YOU HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. I HOPE TO SEE YOU IN CHAZY AT THE CONCERT
JOE
Congratulations on being nominated for 3 SPGMA Awards!!! Having your last 4 albums going to #1 is such a great accomplishment. Unlike many bands who come onto the scene and vanish you just keep moving forward.
I am looking for a song by the Gibsons called The lighthouse. Can you help?
Thanks
MERRY Christmas
I didn't think it would happen, but now I have TWO number ONE blue grass favorites. Alison Krauss & The GIBSON BROTHER'S. Great musickeep it up. THANKS.
just found you on the web I'll have to get your cd
We want to wish you all Merry Christmas, a very successful Happy New Year and most of all "safe travels"! Love you guys:0)
I've recently discovered bluegrass music love the sound of Iron and Diamonds now I'm hooked. Hope to catch you guys at one of your shows
Congratulations on the 2009 SPBGMA nominations!!!
Sounds like good shows recently. Erin should be a professional, she's got such an amazing sound. You are too hard on yourself, sure no one noticed the things that bugged you that night.
As for the Cowboys, didn't anyone tell you you grew up in NY? Pick a New England team (preferably the Patriots.) I thought guys only respected Tony Romo b/c he dates Jessica Simpson?
Have you considered doing a Christmas CD?
Don't forget to get outside and enjoy the weather. It's the key to surviving the winter. Ski mt's are open in VT!
Happy Holidays to all!
Andrea & clan
It just doesn't get any better than this! A Gibson Brothers show for my birthday and then another on Valentine's Day!! We're counting the days until Kent, Ohio, and Chicago. Eric, is the Christmas album John mentioned to you ready yet (Ho, Ho, Ho)? It seems like only yesterday that we were standing in the hot sun at Bean Blossom talking about it. Now it's already December and time to send the band our warmest wishes for a wonderful and joyous holiday season. Take care and travel safely.
You guys were on FIRE in Peru. A really great concert. The North Country is immensely proud of the Gibsons.
Lonely Me, Lonely You is Perfection.
I've posted a review of Sunday's show at Northern Adirondack Central School here: http://tedlehmann.blogspot.com/2008/12/erin-gibson-laclair-show-in-ellenburg.html
Erin's voice was superb, as usual, and the boys were great. Joe Walsh will be a great new addition to the band. - Ted
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.....with the Gibson's.....the show was AWESOME!! Please convey to Erin what a beautiful voice she has. Hope we'll get to hear more of her in the future. We are so glad we first heard you in Saranac Lake at the New Year's Eve "First Night".....just can't hear enough of your music!! Wishing you all and your families a Very Merry Christmas and many Blessings in the coming year. Mary Lou and Tom, too.
I just discovered the Bluegrass music this summer and the Gibson Brothers were my favorite. I bought your 4 cd's during the fall. And this last weekend I had the chance to see you in Waterloo, Quebec. I really appreciate the show. Thanks for the nice evening I had. Hope to see you another time...
P.S. Sorry for my english, french is my first language so I hope you understand my feelings.
Hey, are you guys confirmed for the Feb 14 gig at the Morse Theatre in Chicago that Leigh mentioned yet? I have been watching the schedule here and have not seen it posted.
Great show last night in Waterloo Qc. great to meet you, continued success, thanks T.K. for the introduction....
Eric & Leigh,
WOW!!!! You guys just keep getting better!!!! What an incredible performance we were privy to savor in Bassett on Sunday evening. It was great to meet Jesse and we wish him continued success in his endeavors. Clayton and Mike continue to impress us with their playing. It's great to see the blending of many into one which helps to make THE Gibson Brothers the best Bluegrass Band around. Y'all are so special to me and my family! It was great to see and hear the responses of people who were hearing you for the first time. For me, it's like hearing you the first time, every time, only now I know the words! We had an absolutely incredible night and treasure the time we got to spend with you. Eric and Leigh...I can't personally thank you both enough and really let you know how special you made my day. You were certainly "just what the Dr. ordered"! Your music reaches into the heart and helps us all to remember what's good and pure about life, in spite of hardships. Keep on doing what you do best, giving from the heart... it's one of the gifts you both have been blessed with and do so well. Looking forward to seeing y'all along the Bluegrass trail... especially at Augusta and back here next year. Enjoy the holidays with your family and hope this next year brings much to you in the way of blessings. Take care and know you're touching the lives of many with your music.
